Position Summary

The Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Core Facility Technical Manager is expected to proactively monitor technological development and to work with faculty stakeholders and technical specialists to ensure that UNMC researchers receive state-of-the-art service from the MSPCF through expertise in new protocol development, instrument setup, operation and routine and advanced maintenance. The Technical Manager will work closely with the MSPCF Core Director, and will interact routinely with UNMC investigators, industry representatives, service technicians, as well as other key academic and industry collaborators.

Required Education: Master's degree

Mass spectrometry experience to Include experience with methods for differential proteomics, analysis of posttranslational modifications, targeted and untargeted metabolite analysis, data interpretation, as well as supervision of staff and/or students.

Required Other Computer Applications: Working knowledge of Macintosh and PC computer systems
Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics including but not limited to sample preparation, data acquisition for multiple instrument configurations, data analysis and instrument quality control/maintenance. Strong organizational, interpersonal and writing skills, the ability to work well in a collaborative research environment, and well-developed critical thinking and analytical skills are required.
