Position Qualification

Position Summary

NIH and USDA-funded postdoctoral research associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. John S. Davis in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, NE to study molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating follicle development and corpus luteum function/regression. The studies use a variety of molecular and cellular techniques, RNA-seq, metabolomics, proteomics and lipidomics to understand the mechanisms of action of hormones and inflammatory cytokines. Candidates must have a PhD in biochemistry, molecular/cell biology, genetics, reproductive biology, or a related discipline. Opportunities exist to collaborate with other scientists both within and outside of UNMC. UNMC also provides trainees with opportunities for training in: · Basic, Applied, Clinical, and Translational Research, · Use of a variety of model organisms in research · Cutting edge methodologies in molecular and cellular biology, reproductive physiology, metabolomics, proteomics, epigenetics, and bioinformatics/genomics biology · Skills for successful professional development.

Required Qualifications

PhD degree
Strong background in biochemistry, molecular cell biology, molecular genetics and animal physiology.
Experience/training Preferred in animal handling, breeding, genotyping and small animal surgery.
