Position Qualification

Position Summary

An NIGMS/NIH-funded postdoctoral research associate position is available to study chlamydial cell division in the laboratory of Dr. Scot Ouellette in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The successful candidate will lead experiments to probe the unique division components and mechanisms of this unusual bacterium. Ideal candidates will have a PhD obtained within the past three years in molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, or cell biology with related skill-sets. The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, independent, and hypothesis-driven scientist who will be expected to participate in training of graduate students, lab meetings, and other duties appropriate to the applicant’s career goals. The department has particular expertise in Gram-positive cocci and obligate intracellular pathogens, and this position will be working in modern, well-equipped labs with state-of-the-art facilities.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, or cell biology.

Experience in related scientific field of study.
